The three king’s day spain

The 5th January is an important day in Spain celebrates the end of Christmas with a huge party called the three kings day or the three wise men their names are Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar.

The story of three wise men:

The three kings travel by camel into the desert following a magical star to meet the baby Jesus Christ in Bethlehem and gave him three gorgeous gifts which are Frankincense, gold and myrrh.

The letters:

In December, all the Latin America, boys and girls began to write their letters to the three wise men telling them about the beautiful presents they would like to get on the morning of the 6th January. Also, kids can give the letters to their Majesties by themselves when they came officially on 5th January, the gifts will be given to the good children who behave well in school and house, but for those who have bad conduct, they got only coal which is a sweet made of sugar.

Magnificent ceremony:

Their Majesties took a long voyage from the east to Spain on their camels to visit all the cities and villages after the spectacular ceremony is called the Cabalgata, with millions of people move on their horseback, shepherds, dressed up as Biblical characters, and the three kings, Melchor, Gaspar, and Baltasar throw candies and sweets to all the children in the crowd. Also on the night of 5th January, kids put their shoes outside the house before going to bed, as a result, the kings realize how many children in the house. In addition, they put out something to eat and drink for the 3 kings and grass for their camels. The next day, kids find out their gifts inside and outside shoes and they didn’t find anything about food and drinks in the dishes. Furthermore, families celebrated by eating the ring-cake of the kings or roscon de Los Reyes that is accessorized to look like a crown of the three kings and covered with fruits which symbolize the jewels of the crown also The ring cake hide inside a toy represents the baby Jesus.
